Boosting America’s economy with E-2 treaty investor visas

On Behalf of | Aug 26, 2022

Irrespective of what state America’s economy is in, bringing international investors to New Jersey and other US states is always a good idea. E-2 visa holders are those business owners from certain countries who invest a minimum of $100,000.00 in American commerce. The E-2 visa affords the investor the dream opportunity to live and work in the US. In doing so, they hire Americans and stimulate the US economy with good jobs. The areas of commerce in which they invest run the gamut: from retail to real estate and so much more.

The E-2 treaty investor visa

The E-2 visa is solely for international business executives who come from countries that have commercial treaties with the United States. This visa allows them entry into the US and to assume leadership roles in companies in which they’ve already invested prior to coming here. Alternatively, they may work in other capacities such as a skilled employee.

The E-2 visa has been an overall success story highlighting the advantages of economic cooperation between treaty nations. It is a viable solution to job growth in America and economic recovery.

Hope on the horizon

US consulates in international locations are processing E-2 visas, but not with the speed that could benefit the American job market right now. There is a six to 12 month waiting period for the investor interview. This long wait has caused some investors to look for alternative paths to attain the E-2. They are so eager to create jobs in America that they are willing to become citizens of other countries that have a faster E-2 visa approval rate. Because America needs the help they offer, it is hoped that this circumvention in the future won’t be necessary. Hope exists that America will put mechanisms and protocols in place to expedite the engine that helps its economic stimulation roll right along.
